You will serve as a Transportation Assistant (COUNSELOR) of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER JACKSONVILLE.
Duties
You will review orders and determine the extent of entitlements and eligibility of shipments, drayage or temporary/ non temporary storage of household goods at government expense.
You will review and finalize DD form 1299, application for shipment and/ or storage of personal property, for member/ employee signature and compile with all required documents for shipment.
You will conduct the majority of inspection by telephone; inspections will occasionally be performed at the member’s/ employee’s residence or at the TSP’s warehouse.
You will communicate with customer service team (CST) peers, customers, industry, and other services and agencies as required.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Transportation Assistant (Counselor) work applying basic knowledge of traffic management and transportation policies relating to the movement of household goods and personal property entitlements. Specialized experience must demonstrate: 1) Reviewing orders, documents and verifying household, POV, mobile home shipment and storage entitlements in order to assist customers; 2) Assisting military and civilian personnel in the creation of permanent change of station household goods shipments, storage applications and move request; 3) Assisting military and civilian employees with shipments and storage of personal property and privately owned vehicles, including specialized items, to domestic and overseas locations; 4) Utilizing office automation software to perform functions such as processing, faxing, scanning copying and receipt of transmission of electronic mail.
