You will serve as a LEAD TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT in the NAS Jacksonville Navy Household Goods/Personal Property Processing Office at Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP).
Duties
You will review and finalized DD Form 1299, Applications for Shipment and/or Storage of Personal Property, for members/employee signature and compile all required documents for shipment.
You will distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization and assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
You will provide counseling and entitlement in arranging and coordinating pickup, personally procured move, shipment and/or storage of household goods, unaccompanied baggage, privately owned vehicles, boats, mobile homes.
You will explain shipment and storage options, excess cost and special procedures for shipments.
You will conduct inspections at the member/employee’s residence, at the TSPs warehouse or by telephone.
You will serve as the Lead for the NAS Jacksonville HHG/PPPO overseeing the duties of six other Counselor/Quality Control personnel.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Transportation Assistant work applying a knowledge of a wide range of traffic management and transportation policies, principles and methodology, with in-depth knowledge of personal property shipment. I have experience utilizing automated transportation systems to coordinate shipments and/or storage of household goods, unaccompanied baggage and to prepare required transportation documents. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Review orders, and determine the extent of entitlements and eligibility for the shipment of household goods at government expense; 2) Prepare additional documents needed for shipment such as counseling checklist, customs forms, Voucher/ Pay Adjustments Authorization; 3) Communicate with employees, dependents or agents to elicit their shipment need and services desired; and 4) Serve as the contact point for resolving problems related to assigned moves.
