You will serve as Supply Technician (HAZMAT) in the Hazardous Material Management Branch of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will utilize a knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions related to hazardous material locker, inventory management, storage, receipt, issue, and excess processing. You will maintain automated inventory records by conducting periodic physical inventories of hazardous material ensuring all stock records are accurate and resolve/correct differences as necessary. You will work with customers to avoid excess material and process automated database transactions to remove excess material from inventory records. You will collect and maintain hazardous material operations and usage data, preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports utilizing multiple automated databases.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift certification.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performs roles regarding hazmat item establishment, hazmat stock replenishment, hazmat customer ordering processing, hazmat outstanding container management; 2) Performs hazmat requisition follow-ups and provides status to customers; 3) Works with customers to avoid hazmat excess material and removes excess hazmat material from inventory records and conducts turn-in according to environmental standards; 4) Ensures hazmat stock records are accurate and match against other hazmat inventory database records.
