About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Establish, monitor, and maintain the Tool Room accountability program for the installation in an automated data processing system. Analyze regulations, directives, instructions, etc. from higher headquarters for applicability and assist in the development and/or revision of existing operating procedures. Review supply/tool requests for adequacy of description, quantity, cost, availability, and nature of items required and urgency of new request. Recommends or selects sources (vendors, manufacturers, or fabricators) in purchasing tools and supplies. Develop, coordinate, and perform monthly compliance reviews/reports of the installation's property including tools, tool boxes, and new requests. Assure tool hand receipt holder (THRH) and management officials are informed and trained in pertinent governing regulations, procedures and guidelines relative to tool hand receipt (THRH) responsibility.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Ability to analyze and research data for accuracy and regulatory compliance. Conducts research of supply manuals, GSA, and commercial vendor catalogs, and determines substitution of items, obtains additional technical information, as necessary, and carefully balances such factors as tool characteristics, supply sources, availability, and cost, in making decision. Initiates, coordinates and implements procedures to monitor and control tool accountability, review and process issue requests and provide overall assistance to customers. Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
