You will serve as a Supply Technician (HAZMAT) in the Hazardous Material Management Branch of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will utilize a knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions related to hazardous material locker, inventory management, storage, receipt, issue, and excess processing. You will maintain automated inventory records by conducting periodic physical inventories of hazardous material ensuring all stock records are accurate and resolve/correct differences as necessary. You will work with customers to avoid excess material and process automated database transactions to remove excess material from inventory records. You will collect and maintain hazardous material operations and usage data, preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports utilizing multiple automated databases.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift certification.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.Applying a thorough working knowledge of governing supply and hazardous material management regulations, policies, methods and procedures to perform a wide assortment of complex supply transactions, inventory management, and warehouse functions; 2. Perform inventory management and requisition in a variety of automated supply systems; 3. Maintain inventory records and perform physical inventories to ensure accuracy of records; 4. Provide customers with information on the proper handling of hazardous material, maintain up-to-date and accurate records in regards to HAZMAT related materials and processing customer requests for hazardous materials.
