The primary purpose of this position is to administer and direct the Group Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Duties
Duty 1. Plans, organizes, and oversees the full complement of activities within the Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS).
Duty 2. Plans, organizes and executes all Group information management and personnel activities.
Duty 3. Manages training programs for administration (3F0X1) and personnel (3F5X1) in accordance with established command guidelines.
Duty 4. Serves as the Group point of contact and liaison with the servicing Force Support Squadron on personnel and manpower actions.
Duty 5. Prepares and delivers presentations such as briefings, training sessions, and consultations with serviced Commander(s), other staff agencies and functional areas to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters and convey information.
Duty 6. Participates in special studies and projects relating to planning, coordinating, and analyzing the effectiveness/efficiency of the Group CSS in meeting Air Force Administration program goals.
Duty 7. Develops CSS consolidated resource plan for staff support to include budjet, equipment, computers, supplies and required services.
Duty 8. Exercises limited supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of procedures and processes of management and organizational methods, principles and practices directly relating to training within the Wing. Skill in applying analytical knowledge and concepts to the planning and accomplishment of a variety of assignments of a procedural and factual nature. Knowledge of variety of training regulations and training concepts to provide consultative assistance to management and other Center and Wing personnel.

master's or equivalent graduate degree

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement may be used to qualify applicants at grades GS-9.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. In-depth knowledge of administrative and military personnel policies, procedures, Reserve mission, training methods and programs, rules, guidelines, and instructions.
2. In-depth knowledge of the automated systems, personal computers, hardware, and software.
3. Ability to analyze data/products.
4. Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and staff of an organization; communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing.
5. Knowledge of analytical and investigative techniques to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
6. Knowledge of management principles within both the civilian and military personnel systems, and the ability to integrate the civilian and military personnel aspects in order to successfully accomplish the organization's mission.
7. Knowledge of administrative processes and procedures.
8. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
9. Knowledge of training goals and objectives to assist in the management and implementation of training goals for the CSS personnel.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
