About the Position: This position is located in Arlington, Virginia. Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.
Duties
Address Environmental Justice in Minority Populations and Low-Income Population.
Analyze current and projected requirements for assigned environmental region.
Implement the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard practice for conducting Environmental Baseline Surveys and Environmental Site Assessments.
Review construction project requirements during the current and upcoming fiscal years.
Review National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents, including Record of Environmental Consideration (RECs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required 20% of the time.
- Position requires incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: implementing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) policy and guidance; implementing Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation, and Liability ACT (CERCLA) policy and guidance; preparing Environmental Assessments (EAs), and/or Environmental Impact Statements (EISs); AND reviewing Environmental Condition of Property (ECOP) documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
