This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Base Cape Cod, Aviation Engineering Department, Buzzards Bay, MA.
Duties
The role serves to maintain the training program of the Aviation Engineering department. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: - Maintaining the flight training records for all enlisted aircrew.- Developing, implementing and monitoring an annual training plan to ensure all members of the department successfully complete all general mandated training efficiently according to the required schedule.- Creating, editing, assembling, and/or copying a variety of standard documents, using prescribed formats.- Assisting in the generation, routing and submission of Enlisted Evaluation Reports (EERs).- Taking a photo of each member and placing it in the Engineering electronic folder.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
Qualifications
Applicants for the GS-06 must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience includes experience performing a variety of tasks including record keeping, training scheduling and verification, database management, and clerical work using any combination of word processing, spreadsheet, and electronic mail software. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
