The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) Office of the Chief Security Officer (OCSO), Assistant Director, Security Division is seeking an exceptional Personnel Security Specialist (Adjudicator) to perform a variety of security tasks in support of the AOC security program.
Duties
Duties quoted below at GS-12 level. If hired at the GS-11, the employee will perform a variety of moderately difficult assignments designed to progressively develop the experience required to assume larger responsibilities.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, an applicant's one full year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
To qualify at the GS-12 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-11 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis:
Performing a wide variety of analysis and studies of personnel security risk management;
Advising management on personnel security policies; and
Reviewing, evaluating, and adjudicating reports of investigation, personnel files, and other records to determine whether to grant, deny, revoke, suspend, or restrict security clearances consistent with national security and/or suitability issues.
To qualify at the GS-11 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-09 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis:
Advising management on personnel security policies and
Reviewing, evaluating, and adjudicating reports of investigation, personnel files, and other records to determine whether to grant, deny, revoke, suspend, or restrict security clearances consistent with national security and/or suitability issues.

Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M.
-OR-
Combination of education and experience: Have an equivalent combination of the above specialized experience AND higher level graduate education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
