About the Position: The area is considered rural with the Kisatchie National Forest, which offers hunting and recreational activities, located nearby. Also located nearby are Toledo Bend Lake, Vernon Lake and Anacoco Lake for those interested in fishing, boating, swimming, etc.

Duties

Serves as an Operations Specialist for the Operations Branch, Plans and Operations Division, Directorate of Plans Training and Mobilization. Attend meetings, prepares, and presents briefings concerning issues associated with operational matters for Operations Branch. Action officer for initiatives requiring coordination of Operations Branch activities. Responsible for the coordination of a variety of plans and operations support activities to include facilities support. Reports directly to the Chief, Operations Branch, Plans and Operations Division.

Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
