About the Position: Fort Moore is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama.
Note: Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to veterans' preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment.
Duties
Maintain records and prepare reports.
Serve as a training instructor performing instructional and training development work.
Apply knowledge of security, anti-terrorism/force protection and law enforcement to design, develop, implement, and evaluate individual security guards’ skills and abilities.
Serve as a member of the installation’s overall security response capability during actual or simulated incidents.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- In accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 190-56, requirements of Individual Reliability Program apply.
- This is a drug testing designated position. Individual agrees to submit to a urinalysis on a recurring basis, in accordance with AR 600-85.
- Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
- Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
- Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
- Incumbent must successfully complete CPR certification and First Aid training.
- Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
- Incumbent will be required to pass entry level and annual re-certification of standard Army physical fitness/agility test.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Incumbent must wear prescribed uniform.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminals.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Employee must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability.
- Employee must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing training to Department of the Army Security Guards; 2) Maintaining installation access control badges; 3) Developing lesson plans; 4) Member of the installation's overall security response capability.
