About the Position: This position is located at Fort Moore, GA. Fort Moore is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training.
Duties
Coordinate the activities of three shifts of security guards.
Perform managerial duties related to the guard force.
Operate security related equipment (both manual and automated) or devices.
Write to convey information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
Express thoughts persuasively and uses effective modes to reinforce.
Requirements
- Incumbent must agree to submit to urinalysis on a recurring basis, in accordance with AR 600-85 and sign a DA Form 5019.
- Must obtain and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and first aid.
- The Lautenberg Act is applicable for this position. Must be able to pass a Criminal History Background Check. Candidates with convictions of misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
- Must meet Individual Reliability Program (IRP) standards prescribed by the Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program (AR 190-56).
- Must work rotating shifts and other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and overtime.
- Must wear uniform and may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, shields, body armor, and maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
- Must be able to pass the annual Physical Agility Test (PAT).
- Must possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle license.
- A pre-employment physical is required.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position is designated as mission essential.
- Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons IAW AR 190-56.
- Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
- Incumbent must obtain certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
- Incumbent may be required to carry and deploy a riot baton, carry a protective shield, and deploy non-lethal ammunitions.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
- Position is mission essential.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) protecting Federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accidental or willful damage and destruction or maintaining order and protecting life; 2) assigning work; 3) assisting with issues that are controversial or involve policy; and 4) supervise guard force. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
