About the Position: This position is located with the Defense Health Agency Central North Carolina Market at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Liberty, NC.
Duties
Assist members from the time of receipt of notification pending Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) through various stages of processing until completion of the Clinical Evaluation Process and forwarding to the Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer.
Perform a variety of technical and organizational support duties, mainly in the area of work measurement, forecasting, capacity planning, and scheduling.
Answer non-technical questions concerning appointment providing standardized preparatory instructions for routine procedure for referring to appropriate staff, as required.
Perform a variety of standard and non-standard clerical duties to coordinate travel arrangements, services, and medical appointments for patients and their Family members from distant areas of the geographical region.
Operate a personal computer to input, store, retrieve, and manipulate data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Successful completion of the 61-F4/340-F3 (physical evaluation board liaison officer) training and certification course within 180 days of the appointment and annually thereafter is preferred.

CURRENT DEFENSE HEALTH AGENCY WOMACK EPLOYEES - One year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level in the federal service which includes conducting a telephone or in-person interview with the service member for information; responding to telephone inquiries from unit administrators/service members; gathering data and assembles material for processing of Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) cases and TDRL periodic re-evaluations; providing complete factual data for use by physician/Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Office (PEBLO) in developing and processing cases; and/or initiating, extracting recording and maintaining administrative case files.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
ALL OTHER APPLICANTS
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service which includes providing of information and assistance to Soldiers'; gathering and inputting data into a computer system; and/or communicating with patient and staff in scheduling and adjusting appointments.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, or Management.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
