Duties

Serve as a Scenario Planner within the Joint Pacific Multinational Training Center (JPMRC), U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) in support of Combat Training Center, U.S. National Military Strategy and theater/ regional contingency. Conduct individual and collective mission command training support to training events at Combat Training Center, operational Civil Affairs units, and other organizations using digital battle command systems. Serve as the JPMRC subject matter expert when providing necessary information for development of current and future simulations. Provide expertise in the conduct of war games and simulations on matters pertaining to total force units and operations. Assist with exercise design based on training objectives, unique missions, composition of forces and the command and control structures of each exercise unit.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 25lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 50% of the time.
  • During rotational exercises, the employee is required to work a flexible duty hours which includes - weekends, holidays, and shift work consistent of 10-12 hours days for an extended 2-week period or longer.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning and providing training exercise scenario development activities for an integrated Live, Virtual, or Constructive training environment; assisting in the development of Combat Battle Instructions; and monitoring the execution of training scenarios. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational Performance AnalysisPlanning and EvaluatingWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
