You will serve as an ASSISTANT REGISTRAR of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.

Duties

You will answer inquiries of general nature regarding training to students, instructors, and other staff members. You will process transcripts using computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). You will maintain electronic record keeping requirements for proper documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

FOR THE GS-8: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining, inputting, analyzing, and promulgating data and generating statistical reports; 2) Advising personnel on program requirements, reviewing records to determine if requirements are met, and maintaining documentation to support program requirements; 3) Preparing and compiling documents in support of an academic or major program such as schedules, transcripts, policies, publications etc.; and 4) Managing records and ensuring office personnel comply with procedures in the safeguarding and accountability of files. FOR THE GS 7: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using office automation software to provide administrative support in an academic or professional environment; 2) Maintaining office files according to rules, regulations, and policies; 3) Preparing correspondence, reports, and other documents; and 4) Communicating effectively to a broad range of individuals and groups, using tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
