You will serve as a CONGRESSIONAL REPORTS ANALYST in the White House and Congressional Liaison Office of OFFSECNAV WASHINGTON DC.

Duties

You will track reporting requirements, establish deadlines for final report delivery, and prepare for Secretary's approval. You will create measures and metrics to show trends within the congressional reports program. You will receive, task, and track delegated congressional reporting requirements and coordinate requests with internal and external agencies via the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) task management system. You will prepare correspondence for the Department of the Navy principals that accompany reporting and briefing requirements. You will interpret new guidance received from Congress and OSD concerning reporting requirements and disseminate through appropriate channels.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-13 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience independently monitoring congressional bill markup and passage from the Congressional Defense Committees throughout the fiscal year; Experience conducting extensive reviews of each bill and public law for reporting and briefing; Experience maintaining tracking databases for reporting and briefing requirements; and Experience ensuring deadlines are met by maintaining a continually updated list of reports and reviewing status with the assigned report owners regularly. GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience independently monitoring congressional bill markup and passage from the Congressional Defense Committees throughout the fiscal year; Experience conducting extensive reviews of each bill and public law for reporting and briefing; and Experience maintaining tracking databases for reporting and briefing requirements.
