About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Futures Command, Futures Integration Directorate (FID), Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield.
Duties
Serves as Architecture Interoperability Specialist and is the authority and advisor concerning development, implementation, modification, and management of long and short-range planning of architecture data strategies, policies, and priorities.
Directs and controls performance requirements and methodologies for conducting valid user tests and architecture data certifications to support operational architecture (OA) validation and decision-making.
Represents AIMD on Joint/Army architecture boards, advisory groups, Integrated Process Teams (IPTs) and working groups to provide oversight, guidance and direction relating to Army architectures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a three year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) development, implementation, modification, and management of long and short-range planning of architecture data strategies, goals, objectives, policies, and priorities; AND 2) software development, data management, and information technology (IT) infrastructure. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
