You will serve as a PREVENTION and EDUCATION SPECIALIST(FAP) in the Family Readiness Division of NSA WASHINGTON.

Duties

You will provide instruction to small groups and large classes in issues related to marriage enhancement, positive parenting, anger management, conflict resolution, stress management, etc. You will provide primary and secondary education and training to professionals and paraprofessional who work with children abord installation to include childcare programs, youth sports volunteers, schools, etc. You will provide outreach to promote community awareness of the dynamics of abuse, local resources, and Family Advocacy Program services. You will document and record service delivery in accordance with installation procedures and higher headquarters policy.

Requirements

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identifying/assessing customers to clarify issues and direct referrals to specialist for further assistance; 2) Coordinating and reviewing intervention plans, materials and policies to enhance support of prevention program objectives; 3) Presenting, and promoting varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences; 4) Delivering education and training using a variety of techniques and methods. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
