The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in the National Air and Space Museum which is responsible for educating the public about the development of aviation and spaceflight. The museum collects, preserves, and displays aeronautical and spaceflight artifacts of historical significance.

Duties
This position is in the Information Technology Department, Business Operations and Technology Directorate, National Air and Space Museum (NASM). The incumbent functions as a Sr. IT Specialist (DATAMGT) responsible for providing technical support and expertise in data management, systems software, applications software, data standards, data communications for all automated systems and maintain software and hardware equipment and inventory.

Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as the planning and coordinating of the installation of database management systems and network and office automation workstations; replacing and upgrading hardware; and troubleshooting hardware and software technologies.
In addition to meeting the Specialized Experience for all positions individuals must have related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
