This position is located in Refugee, Asylum, and International Operations, Newark Asylum Office.
As an Mission Support Assistant (Office Automation), you will maintain tracking systems, procure routine equipment and services, and maintain office files and records.
Duties
The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
Coordinate requests for services from users and complete necessary forms.
Maintain office files and records.
Perform collateral security and/or emergency duties with the support of the Field Security Manager or Area Emergency Manager.
Maintain a variety of logs to monitor the budget transactions and various processes.
Procure routine equipment and services.
Prepare recurring reports.
Provide information regarding various human resources procedures.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/03/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/03/2024
GS-06: You qualify at the GS-06 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Preparing a variety of administrative program documents and reports.
Monitoring transactions.
Maintaining records.
Processing requests for services and resolving discrepancies.
Providing routine program information to users.
GS-07: You qualify at the GS-07 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Coordinating administrative requirements with offices served.
Maintaining contact with offices having primary responsibility for administrative programs and obtaining the most up-to-date information on procedural requirements.
Providing procedural assistance on routine administrative matters.
Maintaining databases and identifying trends or patterns.
Compiling a variety of reports.
