The primary purpose of this position is to manage personnel programs and processes of the organization and serve as a liaison with manpower/personnel/force support offices and key programs managers.
Duties
Provides unit personnel support services
Monitors and directs the control of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel office. Serves as the organization point of contact and liaison with the personnel flight on military and civilian personnel issues.
Assist in planning, administering, and monitoring manpower resource requirements.
Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization. Integrates a variety of software to produce final products.

- Position requires the services of a qualified typist. Minimum qualification is 40 words per minute.
- Incumbent may be required to work weekends during the unit training assembly (UTA) weekend.
- Incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary (TDY) assignments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Travel and Relocation expenses WILL NOT be paid.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service serving as the primary point of contact for all administrative support programs, assisting in administering and monitoring personnel resource requirements. Providing unit personnel support services. Accomplishing activities in support of the unit's civilian and military personnel, ensuring all necessary actions are accomplished and finalized. Reviewing and analyzing control procedures and handling methods within the organization. Reviewing outgoing correspondence for conformance with the Air Force instructions, policies, format, and assembly; for accuracy of spelling, punctuation, form, grammar; and for completeness of reports and correspondence.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of common clerical practices and office routines. Knowledge of basic rules of grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation, and of standard abbreviations. Knowledge of format and clerical procedures to arrange a variety of material from different sources. Knowledge of personnel documentation and reporting procedures.
2.Skill in integrating a variety of types of software to generate products for a single purpose. Skill in assessing personnel resource requirements.
3. Knowledge of reserve programs and skill in scheduling for requirements. Knowledge of official orders preparation instructions and procedures.
4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.
5. Knowledge of processes used in the ordering and distribution of forms. Knowledge of administrative and personnel processes.
6. Thorough knowledge of the mission, functions, and policies of the organization.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
