You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER in the Surface Combat Systems Training Command of SURFCOMSYSTRNCMD SAN DIEGO.

Duties

You will develop, analyze, evaluate, advise on, and recommend improvements to the effectiveness of administrative workflow and procedures. You will analyze and review documentation procedure and controls, files, directives, forms, records control / management and disposal procedures to include office automation. You will perform management information reviews, studies, services, research projects, and provide advisory services. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjust short- and long-term goals and priorities, and prepare schedules for the completion of projects. You will participate in meetings and conferences with the Commanding Officer, the Executive Officer, the Executive Director, and other Department Heads regarding administrative matters.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing support services (e.g. budgetary, personnel affairs, training) to a department; 2) Performing work that applies military personnel principles, concepts and methodologies to gather facts and respond to questions to ensure regulatory compliance;3) Assisting with civilian and military personnel administration, payroll matters, human resources and personnel security to answer questions, resolve issues and liaise with servicing offices.
