Duties
As a Supervisory Public Health Advisor you will:
Serve as DGHT's most senior division management official, supporting the division in all management and operational issues that impact headquarters and country offices.
Advise Division Director, Principal Deputy Director, and other senior staff on strategic business and human resources management issues.
Coordinate with the Division Director and Principal Deputy Director to manage DGHT's staffing at headquarters and in country offices.
Ensure the division's management and overseas operations, including budget, finance, human resources/personnel, organizational methods, grants/contracts/procurement and property, are efficient, effective, and accountable.
Improve business services, practices, and systems through effective and efficient strategic thinking, critical analyses, resource and performance management, business policy development, communications, and customer relations management.
Provide guidance and leadership in implementing Presidential, Departmental, and CDC directives.
Supervise senior leaders in the Office of the Director, headquarters Branch Chiefs, and other staff as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which must include the following experience: See specialized experience below:
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in developing and formulating new programs and initiatives that are in accord with public health activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
