This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Operational Support Division, Aviation Division.
This position(s) primary purpose is to serves as the principle technical advisor to the Administrative Officer and liaison representative to the Center by providing advice, assistance, procedural guidance, and customer service to employees, supervisors in the broad range of personnel management.
Duties
As an Administrative Support Specialist, your typical work assignments may include:
Performing human resources liaison duties to address personnel issues that are not always susceptible to direct observation and resolution, such as developing informational materials based on knowledge of internal operations, DEA human resources policies, budgetary constraints, and work priorities.
Identifying issues, gathers and analyzes information, and develops advice and guidance to resolve substantive problems affecting the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program or program support setting.
Maintaining a records management program for a single-mission program with related functions.
Preparing and providing administrative correspondence and special reports for the Administrative Officer.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.
Applicants applying for the GS-09 must meet one of the following requirements:
A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-07 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with providing advice and assistance to managers and staff concerning Federal and agency human resources processes and procedures; 2) Gathering statistical data and program information; 3) Processing all incoming office personnel and ensures all appropriate paperwork is filled out properly; and, 4) Creating correspondences and reports for the Administrative Officer related to personnel actions.
OR
B. Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
C. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR
B. Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related.
OR
C. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
