As a Resource Management Assistant you will perform a variety of administrative tasks in support of personnel programs and processes, serving as a technical resource to employees and managers for administrative and staffing issues as part of a common service division for Diagnostics and Biologics Program's Resource Management Unit.
Duties
The duties may include, but are not limited to:
Coordinates recruitment activities by reviewing personnel requests to determine the nature of staffing or other action required and sources of candidates.
Provides assistance on appropriate actions for working the list of eligible applicant certificates.
Serves as liaison between HRD and local management when filling positions.
Provides employment information to walk-in, telephone, and written inquiries regarding vacancies, procedures for filing applications, interviewing, and procedures associated personnel items.
Coordinates the participation at college career days, outreach events, and diversity fairs.
Provides staff support for personnel programs areas such as leave, benefits, probationary periods, employee relations, awards, time and attendance and other personnel information.
Provides new employee orientation, assisting new employees in completion of; forms, administering oath of office, employee benefits, leave accrual, and various location aspects.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Individuals who were born male after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
FOR THE GS-07 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates:
Acting as a liaison between HR and local management to facilitate position filling, including administering appointment authorities, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with HRD for approvals.
Providing backup support for team members as needed and take on additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to ensure seamless team operations.
Coordinating recruitment activities by reviewing personnel requests, identifying suitable recruitment sources, and working with HR personnel to determine the best recruitment strategies. Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in recruitment processes.
Tracking deadlines for self and others, such as; receipt of official documents, reporting dates, cyclic processes.
Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
