Duties

You will oversee Acquisition Strategy Managers and subject matter experts responsible for integrating acquisition programs into the workforce. You will coordinate across operations, training, strategy/plans, intelligence, logistics, legal, and contracting communities to ensure Combat Programs capability integrations across the range of functional competencies. You will lead proponent for closing validated capability gaps in Combat Programs. You will supervise, manage, and coordinate the work of the Combat Programs Branch.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Must obtain and maintain Range Officer in Charge and/or Range Safety Officer qualification within one year of notification of supervisor.
  • Incumbent is subject to random counterintelligence scope polygraph examinations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading and managing programs/initiatives in a systemic manner and ensuring their execution within approved cost, performance, schedule, and risk parameters with experience in areas such as Visual Augmentation Systems (VAS), Fires Simulation, Range Support equipment, Classified Projects, Precision Strike Systems, Weapons, Munitions, and Tactical Ground Mobility (TGM) Platforms; and assessing the spend plans, acquisition strategies, program obligations, expenditures, requirements resolution, and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submissions.
