About the Position: This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Liberty, NC. Incumbent will perform a variety of tasks associated with food preparation to include serving prepared foods and beverages, cleaning work area and doing dishes. The primary work schedule will be 5 days on with 2 consecutive days off, from the hours of 0600-1830, on a weekly rotating basis. Weekend work will be included in shift rotation.

Duties

Prepare hot and cold food serving stations for cafeteria style service. Stock juices, beverages, utensils, and quick service food carts when replenishment is needed. Clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils manually or by use of dishwashing equipment. Operate a cash register for dining food and beverage sales.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a favorable result from a National Agency Background Check.
• This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
• Incumbent is subject to shift assignments on a 2 shifts per day, 7 days a week schedule on a weekly rotating basis.
• Employee is required to wear protective shoes and other equipment for safety purposes.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Food Handler's Certification.
• This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.

I can prepare cold items such as sandwiches, salads, and fruit; stock utensils, cups, and condiments for customers; clean food preparation areas and kitchen equipment. Incumbent is subject to injuries from equipment used and is exposed to dirt, cleaning chemicals, grease and water in cleaning tasks. Incumbent is subject to extremes in temperatures when bringing supplies from walk-in refrigerators. Wears safety shoes and other protective items as required.
