About the Position: Serve as a Project Scientist/Engineer leading the technical resolution of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) project issues for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, Engineering Division, Environmental Branch.
Duties
Assignments involve leading the technical resolution of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) project issues.
Conduct site investigations and design studies for the purpose of characterizing and remediating HTRW sites.
Evaluate and/or designs treatment and/or disposal processes for contaminated soil and water.
Research available area/site background data and developing groundwater investigation programs to obtain required site-specific detail information.
Ensure remedial designs and technologies are correct and reflect sound, state-of-the-art, environmental practices.
Coordinate work with Project Delivery Team, other sections and branches, and/or state and federal agencies as applicable.

Specialized Experience for GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes resolving Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) project issues; preparing scopes of work and Government cost estimates to procure Architect-Engineer services for investigation and design services; and reviewing laboratory test results to makes recommendations based on findings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
