About the Position: Serve as a Project Scientist/Engineer leading the technical resolution of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) project issues for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, Engineering Division, Environmental Branch.
Duties
Assignments involve leading the technical resolution of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) project issues.
Conduct site investigations and design studies for the purpose of characterizing and remediating HTRW sites.
Evaluate and/or designs treatment and /or disposal processes for contaminated soil and water.
Research available area/site background data and developing groundwater investigation programs to obtain required site-specific detail information.
Ensure remedial designs and technologies are correct and reflect sound, state-of-the-art, environmental practices.
Coordinate work with other sections and branches and state and federal agencies as applicable.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes resolving Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) project issues; preparing scopes of work and Government cost estimates to procure Architect-Engineer services for investigation and design services; and reviewing laboratory test results to makes recommendations based on findings.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
