Duties
You will perform studies and analyses concerned with improving the acquisition process for assigned logistics areas.
You will gather facts, define problems, and explore alternative solutions to acquisition of logistics support for assigned and interfacing logistics elements.
You will assist specialists of higher grade in developing and negotiating statements of work for contracts intended to provide for acquisition of major weapon systems/equipment.
You will analyze contract data requirements for assigned logistics areas to determine effectiveness and usefulness of integrated logistics support (ILS) data delivered by the contractor.
Requirements

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirement per the individual, single agency qualification standard for Department of Defense positions: Applicants must possess, or be in possession of before the hiring date, a bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Demonstrating ability in identifying and documenting ways to improve logistics management effectiveness.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology of logistics management; and 2) Demonstrating knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)-related disciplines and interrelationships - such as engineering/hardware design impact, reliability, safety, and human factors engineering.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, the following education is required:
GS-07:
One full year of graduate level education;
or
superior academic achievement.
GS-09:
A master's or equivalent graduate degree;
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related;
or
A combination of specialized experience at the GS-07 level and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
