You will serve as a Procuring Contracting Officer (non-supervisory, limited warrant) working with contract specialists and program staff to award contracts for ground weapons or information technology. Duties
You will analyze and evaluate major contractual/procurement aspects of substantive mission-oriented programs.
You will utilize mastery knowledge of procurement statutes and regulations and/or contracting methods, policies, procedures, and contract types to plan and carry out long-term pre-award and/or post-award procurement actions.
You will be cognizant of procurement statuses and regulations and/or contracting methods, polices, procedures, and contract types.
You will be accustomed with business strategies, policies, systems, goals and procedures within the command and with program or technical requirements.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Exercising the knowledge of procurement and/or contracting status, regulations, polices, procedures and contracting methods.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
OR
A current career or career-conditional employee of the Department of Defense who occupied an 1102 or contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT) in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000.
OR
A current active duty military member of the armed forces (other than Coast Guard) who occupied a contracting position or similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 on or before September 30, 2000.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
