About the Position: The incumbent of this position will provide administrative support for students attending the Army Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) resident and non-resident courses offered by the SHARP Academy at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This position may be filled at the GS-5, GS-6, or GS-7 level, based upon management determination. The individual selected may be non-competitively promoted to subsequent grade(s) upon completion of all regulatory requirements.

Duties

The responsibilities described below (which is not an all -inclusive list) are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels (GS-05 and GS-06), you will perform assignments under closer than normal supervision. This list is not all-inclusive. Plans and provides for student support services for the students attending SHARP Academy resident and non-resident courses at Fort Leavenworth and installations Army-wide. Serves as liaison between students and external support agencies in solving support issues. Receives student inquiries and complaints and resolves issues by coordinating actions with faculty and staff. Coordinates student and SHARP Academy staff travel using the Defense Travel System (DTS). Coordinates with on post lodging to secure rooms for students attending SHARP courses at Fort Leavenworth. Works closely with transportation managers to ensure that transportation is provided to and from lodging or any other course requirement. Coordinates with supply technician to ensure required instruments and other classroom supplies are ordered and on hand for both the resident and non-resident courses.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require the incumbent to perform temporary duty (TDY) for business travel up to 10% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). -OR- Education Substitution: Successful completion of 4 (four) years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university. (NOTE: You MUST attach a copy of ALL your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (NOTE: You MUST attach a copy of ALL your transcripts.) Specialized Experience for the GS-6 grade level: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: work which includes performing various clerical and administrative support duties such as utilizing computer software program to prepare correspondence and reports, maintaining files and records, making travel/lodging arrangements, and screening phone calls and visitors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). -OR- Education Substitution: Successful completion of one-half year {i.e., nine (9) semester hours} of graduate (post baccalaureate)level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Education related fields, Business related fields, Financial Management related fields, or Statistics related fields of study. (Note: You MUST attach a copy of ALL of your transcripts.) Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate (post baccalaureate) education by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You MUST attach a copy of ALL of your transcripts.) Specialized Experience for the GS-7 grade level: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: work which includes utilizing automated systems to assist in the coordination of support service such as arranging travel accommodations, coordinating transportation, lodging, etc., and conversing with individuals (both orally and in writing) of all levels to accomplish administrative support tasks, such as preparing correspondence and dealing with emerging problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). -OR- Education Substitution: Successful completion of one (1) full academic year of graduate (post baccalaureate) level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Education related fields, Business related fields, or Financial Management related fields of study. (Note: You MUST attach a copy of ALL of your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
