This IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) wing, Mission Support Group, Base Communications Unit and is part of the CA 144 FW.

Duties

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, TEMPORARY POSITION NOT TO EXCEED ONE YEAR Selectee may be non-competitively extended up to 4 years if/when funding becomes available. The primary purpose of the IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT), GS-2210-11, is to serve as a customer support specialist performing work involving analytical and evaluative duties related to classified and unclassified information technology networks and/or cyber system with primary knowledge requirements of information processing methodology, information technology, telecommunications systems, computer capabilities, processing techniques, IT trouble ticket management, and data communications.

IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT), GS-2210-11: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience developing, recommending, and installing solutions and upgrades to ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of all components of the assigned system; Experience providing ongoing technical support to customers to ensure proper functional use of equipment and programs and to preclude undue interruptions to IT and communications services; Experience providing cost analyses for new/upgrade infrastructure and architecture capabilities. Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work required.
