You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER in the SAFETY DIVISION of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will serve as an action officer for the Director, Safety Division in support of the Marine Corps enterprise. You will manage the administrative operations of the division on behalf of the Director, Deputy Director, Executive Assistant and three Branch heads. You will provide direction and guidance to the staff on administrative matters and ensure the most efficient and effective support is provided to the Safety Division. You will provide secondary assistance to the Fiscal Officer in the identification of the financial and material needs for the Divisions budget and operations. You will be responsible for the Government Travel Card Program rules and regulation sand ensure each card holder understand their responsibilities. You will provide general administrative support through drafting documents and correspondence for distribution to invested parties.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Demonstrated experience supporting military administrative functions through adherence to DOD, DON and Marine Corps policies and procedure; AND experience with budgeting methods, processes, and regulations. . Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
