This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Resource Management, Resource and Data Analysis Section (FRC). This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as the Section Chief, responsible for developing evaluation methodologies and validating resource execution transactions concerning the Diversion Control Fee Account (DCFA), and for overseeing cost, resource, and data analysis functions that inform the DEA budget process and execution of all DEA resources.

Duties

As a Management and Program Analysis Officer (Section Chief), your typical work assignments may include: Exercises supervisory and/or managerial authorities and provides occupational specific technical and administrative direction over subordinate employees performing the work and functions of the organization. Ensures that the work of the section/unit employees complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets agency or customer needs. Evaluates formal and informal requests for additional resources needed to support organizational programs. Develops clear and concise metrics to evaluate the efficiency in which organizational units operate in compliance with regulatory procedures. Evaluates discrepancies in data, findings discovered during program reviews, or research that exposes speculative assertions made and determines an appropriate method to resolve questionable problems.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application. Applicants applying for the GS-15 must meet one of the following requirements: Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-14 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing or providing guidance for large organizational budgets, including justifying, executing, and analyzing budgets; 2) Managing formal program review policies, procedures, and systems that track resource allocations for organizational programs; 3) Providing advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of planning & integration and administrative issue; 4) Overseeing data analysis of financial, budgetary, and other related programmatic and administrative data.
