You will serve as a Shipfitter Supervisor in the Shipfitter Shop (11A), Hull Division (TRF-310), Repair Department (TRF-300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will determine assignments that can be accomplished concurrently, or which must be delayed, the number of employees required, and the availability of materials and equipment required.
You will be responsible for the accomplishment of the entire range of Shop layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, etc. responsibilities within the broad guidelines and responsibilities set forth by the Miscellaneous Shops General Foreman.
You will administer supervision over a staff of approximately 13 positions.
You will schedule training for shop personnel while ensuring training does not conflict with shop operations, and conduct Quality Training along with safety meetings.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IT-II designation certification.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

1 Serving as a Shipfitter Supervisor responsible for planning, directing, and managing the layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of various metal structural parts of submarines.
2 Providing technical direction over work efforts of subordinates to ensure efficient and effective accomplishment of shop operations.
3 Assigning and explains work to be performed by subordinates.
4 Possessing extensive knowledge of submarine structural parts and the ability to direct the layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of submarine structural parts.
5 Observing work in progress to ensure work is completed accurately and on time with minimum cost.
6 Scheduling and approving leave requests of subordinates.
7 Performing written performance appraisals and initiates recommendations for promotions or reassignment of subordinates.
8 Demonstrating considerable experience in the organization, management, direction, and coordination of activities concerned with scheduling and performing industrial facility functions.
9 Adjudicating informal complaints and grievances through discussions with employees and union representatives and initiates disciplinary actions as needed.
10 Determining equipment, material, and maintenance required for subordinates to perform the work.
11 Using knowledge of procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives to ensure subordinates are completing maintenance and repairs efficiently and correctly.
12 Planning daily work schedules to be accomplished.
13 Establishing deadlines and priorities based on requirements established by higher authority.
14 Ensuring employees comply with local safety regulations.
15 Motivating subordinates to operate as an effective working unit to complete job tasks assigned.
