You will serve as a SHIPFITTER TRAINING LEADER in the Shipfitter Shop (Shop 11A), Hull Division (TRF Code 310), Repair Department (TRF Code 300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will research, develop, and administer shipfitter/lofter trade theory training required to provide apprentices, WG-05 helper and WG-08 worker level employees knowledge and information needed to advance them to the full WG-10 performance level. You will employ the use of standard classroom equipment and/or tools and equipment to conduct training sessions. You will develop and administer mock-ups and mock-up training required for upcoming work. You will develop and administer formal and informal examinations to test progress of the training. You will provide qualification and requalification training to all shipfitter and lofter personnel.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision such as: Experience utilizing various instructional methods so others will gain knowledge of the safety precautions, work sequences, technical specifications, and other trade practices consistent with the objectives to be accomplished; Experience demonstrating proper trade techniques and giving instruction; and Experience with equipment and structural fabrication assembly, installation, repair etc. associated with submarine shipfitting work.
