The incumbent is a Senior Editor for the NNSA Executive Secretariat responsible for researching and tracking statutory and non-statutory reporting requirements and providing expert level knowledge and skills of advanced writing and editing for NNSA correspondence and other written products.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-02 or GS-12. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience applying advanced writing and research skills for complex, time sensitive written products to be reviewed and signed the most senior levels of the agency, and experience providing accurate, clear, and well researched documents that are in line with rules and procedures and prepared for a wide variety of national and international audiences. Examples of Specialized Experience: 1. Review all draft legislation and final laws to identify agency reporting requirements, and items with agency equity. Compile tracking documents to detail requirements, upload into the electronic document tracking system, assign requirements, and track, review and edit, and process documents through the Department's multi-step process for reviewing products for delivery to the President or to Congress. 2. Plan, coordinate, prioritize multiple short- and long-term projects, including reports, time sensitive correspondence, workforce messaging, legislative proposals, and other special duties as assigned. 3. Develop, maintain, and leverage relationships with points of contact across the agency, the Department, and the Interagency to assist in the review and clearance of the Agency's highest priority documents for delivery to the President or Congress, or intergovernmental or foreign government stakeholders. 4. Provide guidance and mentorship to agency offices in drafting, reviewing, and editing letters, action/information memoranda to ensure that documents and correspondence submitted for executive signature are appropriate in tone and style, professional in format and appearance, and consistent with current Administration policies and practices "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must meet all of the requirements as described in this section. If you are eligible for career transition assistance plans such as ICTAP or CTAP, you must meet the definition of "well qualified" which is defined as having a score of 85 or better. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
