About the Position: Serves as the Senior Operations Specialist for the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS), responsible for the management of the Installation Operations Center (IOC)/Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Performs duties as the Chief of Operations during his/her absense.

Duties

Acts as the principal staff officer responsible for current operations. Serves as subject matter expert for activities in the areas of contingency missions and current operations. Performs communications system management and operator training for the Installation Operations Center (IOC) and Emergency Operations Center (EOC). As the Senior Operations Specialist, provides guidance on training new personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The position requires a Secret Security clearance.
  • Incumbent may be required to perform shift work and/or weekend duty.
  • This is a KEY DESIGNATED POSITION.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
