You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Duties

You will provide management control, oversight, guidance, support and corrective actions when evaluating the effectiveness of the organization's programs and supply support functions. You will provide appraisals and reports on the status of milestones. You will oversee, evaluate, and coordinate supply support for assigned systems and platforms.

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying knowledge as it relates to life cycle logistics in order to provide the full range of logistics support, including: provisioning, allowance development, configuration management, technical data packages, quality issue, vendor surveys, post-production support, and overall program support management; 2) Preparing oral and written presentations, to provide detailed recommendations to actual or potential problems, or to persuade others to adopt technical/quality specific proposals or recommendations; 3) Assisting in efforts regarding staffing, motivation and training to develop all employees and ensuring equitable consideration for training opportunities and nominations for teams and committees; 4) Using knowledge of the technical characteristics of the organization's assigned weapons systems, including knowledge of ILS concepts and policies in order to coordinate and manage projects, programs, and procedures to optimize support of assigned weapons systems.
