This is a Fall Student Intern appointment NTE 3 Months in the Pathways Program. Fall Internship may be extended. Upon successful completion of the Pathways Internship Program requirements in accordance with 5 CFR 362.204 (hours, performance, educational requirements, training completion, etc.) interns may be non-competitively converted to a term, career conditional or career appointment within 120 days to a position and grade deemed qualified.

Duties

The Student Trainee will be responsible for helping to drive the agency's investment and portfolio strategy. Key responsibilities will include: - Assists in establishing what DFC's portfolios across markets, sectors, and regions should look like to maximize development impact and advance strategic priorities. - Research and benchmarks industry best practices, conducts in-depth research and analysis, and coordinates internally and with other relevant stakeholders including clients, peer DFIs, other agencies, and industry key opinion leaders. - Identifies key metrics and goals that should measure the success of our portfolio across financial, impact, and strategic measures, and then conduct in-depth modeling and analysis to measure those goals. - Analyzes the tactical and operational planning processes through which measures are established to assess DFC's accomplishments of its strategic objectives and provide data and recommendations in assessing the state of DFC program and policy operations. Please Note: This is not a Bargaining unit position.

• Must be a current and continuing student in college, trade school or other qualifying educational institution.
• Salary listed is based on Washington D.C. location and will be adjusted depending on location.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-07 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements: A. Completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field of study that demonstrates the competencies required by this position with either (1) a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale; (2) a 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale for all required courses completed in a qualifying major field of study at either the time of application or during the last two years of your undergraduate curriculum; (3) class standing of upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or a major subdivision of the college; or, (4) membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, excluding freshman honor societies; OR B. One full year of graduate level education in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in one of the following related fields: Business, Public Policy, Public Administration, International Development, International Relations, or a closely related field. Please note an unofficial or official transcript must be included in your application to support qualification requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

If you are graduating from your present course of study at the end of the current semester/quarter, to be eligible for this program you must be continuing your education next semester/quarter and be accepted for enrollment seeking a diploma, certificate, bachelor's degree, graduate degree, or professional degree from a qualifying educational institution on a full- or half-time basis.

PASS/FAIL COURSES:
If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.

FOREIGN EDUCATION is education acquired outside of any State of the U.S., the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, a Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, or any territory or possession of the U.S. If you are using foreign education to meet qualification and/or eligibility requirements, you must submit a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency (a U.S. private organization's interpretation that such education has been deemed at least equivalent to conventional U.S. education programs or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university) with your application in order to receive credit for that education. (Foreign education transcripts will not be accepted).
