About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Peterson AFB - EL Paso - Colorado.
Duties
Reviews and analyzes applicable operations and plans directives and policies issued by DoD.
Determines the need to develop and issue policy plans and instructions for proper integration and implementation.
Communicates current information on key issues and special events
Prepares read-ahead and briefing materials for senior leaders and participants.
Attends routine and regular Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) video teleconferences, meetings and working groups.
Performs analysis and prepares reports on results together with comments on the quality of the collection environment and ways in which the data collection process can be improved.
Focuses joint planning guidance (JPG) on developing plans that contain viable cyberspace options.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS-SCI).
- Must undergo and successfully complete an initial and periodic Counter-Intelligence Polygraph (CI Poly) examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI). This requirement varies depending on the duty location, may or may not apply.
- Must pass an initial and periodic urinalysis screening for illegal drug use.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to NSA and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) accredited facilities and networks. [Military Affairs Desk Officer (MADO) Security In-Processing (SIP) process.]
- This requirement varies depending on the duty location, may or may not apply.
- May be required to carry a pager or cell phone during on call status outside normal duty hours.
- May be required to deploy to exercise or contingency locations to provide expert support, possibly for 30 days or longer.
- Shift work, irregular tours of duty, and/or extended duty may be required.
- The incumbent will be required to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Department of Defense Directive 8570.1, requires every full and part-time military service member, defense contractor, civilian and foreign employee with privileged access to a Department of Defense system,
- regardless of job series or occupational specialty, to obtain a commercial certification credential that has been accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
- The approved base line certification for this task requirement is IAT Level I certification of DoDD 8571.01-M, and the incumbent must achieve IAT Level I certification within six months or less of entrance on duty.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1. Integrating operational capabilities from across the cyber domain to increase quality and efficiency of cyberspace operations. 2. Generating responses to cyber threat intelligence, anomalous indicators, malicious activity, and/or compromises to remediate vulnerabilities, eradicate unauthorized accesses, and to restore function, confidentiality, integrity, and access to platforms and services 3. Coordinating efforts of network operators, network analysts, capability developers, and other technical leads to develop plans and procedures necessary to meet Cyberspace Operations mission requirements.4. Executing network and cyberspace operations planning meetings including generation and review of supporting materials for operation needs (briefings, synch matrices, agendas, schedules, timelines, Requests for Support (RFS) etc.).
