About the Position: This position serves as an Industrial Worker located at Pine Bluff Arsenal.
Duties
Checks equipment settings to assure equipment is operating within specified ranges and tolerances.
Performs functional tests to verify proper operation of chemical/biological defense equipment.
Adheres to all clean-up procedures and maintenance requirements.
Operates automatic machines and equipment to carry out assembly operations.
Performs daily start-up and shut down procedures for assigned equipment.
Performs inspection tasks at various locations on the line.
Follows established safety instructions for each piece of equipment.
Performs machine operations and functions with equipment, such as, heat seal equipment, die-cut presses, die-cut clicker presses and fill towers.
Performs filling operations of the M49, M48 and 410 CFM filter.
Performs testing processes with automated test equipment using Freon Gas.
Applies adhesives with manual or automated dispensing equipment.
Utilize shop equipment such as welding equipment to include spot welders, and rollers and formers to weld and form metal parts.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- Incumbent must meet specific regulatory training to meet mission essential requirements.
- Pre-appointment physical is required and annual physical thereafter.
- Incumbent must successfully pass a physical ability test and job simulation test to replicate the physical aspects of the job and determine the candidate’s ability to successfully perform the essential physical tasks of the job. Annually thereafter.
- Assignment and selection to mobile repair teams may require travel up to 75% of the time.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain a Government Travel credit card and comply with all regulations associated with use of the credit card.
- Incumbent will be required to wear personnel protective equipment, respirators, safety glasses, etc.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Industrial Worker without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common Industrial Worker duties which include 1. Applying safety practices while handling and manufacturing Chemical Biological related operations; 2. Performing visual inspections of equipment for defects; and 3. Utilizes various equipment (such as hand tools, power press, etc.) for repairs. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort
Operators routinely/daily lift, carry, and stack components and containers weighing 20 pounds. Workers frequently lift and carry buckets, cartons, and cans weighing up to 50 pounds May pull or push hand trucks carrying several hundred pounds. The work requires sitting, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, and long periods of standing. Endurance and eye-hand coordination are required to work at a steady pace and rhythm for long periods. Workers perform work on hard surfaces and in work areas requiring them to stand, stoop, and bend. Hand-trucks, dollies and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items. Working Conditions
Work is both inside and outside. The worker may occasionally work inside areas that are drafty and in rare occasion hot and un-air conditioned. The nature of the work is sometimes dirty, dusty, greasy, and the area may be noisy. Workers may be required to stand on floors made of concrete and anti-fatigue mats are used for standing long periods of time. Often, the workers are sitting on stools while attending their work station. Operators may be required to wear protective clothing overalls, safety shoes, safety glasses, respirators, protective masks, and goggles on assignments. They are frequently exposed to moisture and wet floors as a result of cleanup operations in work areas. They are required to work in proximity to fumes from acid, solvents, other industrial type of chemicals, and explosives. Industrial Hygeine monitoring may be required to determine appropriate levels of personnel protective equipment. They may be exposed to the possibility of explosion and flash fire. There may be a chance for injuries and all hazards have been analyzed to insure risk to the worker is reduced and acceptable.
