The selectee for this position will serve as a SHEET METAL WORKER in the Sheet Metal Shop (17A), Hull Division (TRF-300), TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIFEFFAC), Kings, Georgia.
Duties
You will be responsible for developing patterns and lays out, cuts, forms, joins, assembles, and install sheet metal items and systems aboard submarines.
You will be responsible for coordinating work with others to complete assignments, removes and replaces sheet metal interferences in assisting other shops, interfaces, coordinates, and plans various work assignments with various support trades.
You will be responsible for assisting a higher graded employee in the conduct of more complex projects and through such assignments incumbent will gain understanding of more advanced concepts and practice in field.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Experience serving as a sheet metal mechanic responsible for performing a limited number of specific sheet metal processes to perform the less difficult duties of the trade.
Experience demonstrating the ability to read and interpret blueprints and templates to perform job duties.
Experience assisting the journeyman sheet metal mechanic with removing, altering, repairing, fabricating and installing a variety of sheet metal items and systems.
Experience assisting with removing and replacing sheet metal interference in assisting shops.
Experience demonstrates a working knowledge of equipment, structures, materials, etc. associated with sheet metal operations.
Experience ensuring that the work area is maintained in a safe and clean manner.
Experience using and maintaining hand and power tools related to the sheet metal trade.
