The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a joint fires operations subject matter specialist synchronizing the execution of joint fires in support of achieving objectives and effects across all event horizons. Monitors and assesses targeting operations to discern additional targeting/execution options and/or reprioritize targets to meet USSPACECOM objectives.
Duties
Provide joint fires operations expertise in support of strategic and operational planning and execution in support of USSPACECOM mission areas to create multi-domain effects on targets to achieve CCMD objectives.
Execute joint fires as the supported or supporting command, aligned with policy, guidance, instructions, and doctrine to ensure compliance with required authorities and rules of engagement.
Prepare and deliver written targeting specific products and oral presentations such as briefings and training sessions with other staff functions and activities to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters, and convey operational information.

- On occasion, the employee will be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and/or overtime will periodically be required.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 30 days per year.

Position is designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, SPACECOM, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
Employee is in a designated position that requires consent and thereafter be subject to and successfully complete, an initial, periodic and random counterintelligence (CI)-scope polygraph examination as a condition of employment. Polygraph examinations are considered current when administered within the past five years.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, 0301 Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH 02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS 11 or equivalent in the Federal Service (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or private sector).. Specialized experience must include ; Demonstrates skilled critical thinking in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex issues, as appropriate. knowledge of joint war fighting doctrine, unified combatant command structure, and global command and control constructs. Knowledge of adapting Planning and execution (APEX) process, the Joint Planning Process (JPP), and development of operational orders.
For current Federal Employees within General Schedule Pay Plans- Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-11 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of joint war fighting doctrine, unified combatant command structure, and global command and control constructs.
Knowledge of Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) process, the Joint Planning Process (JPP), and development of operational orders.
Ability to independently execute projects an/or studies within established time constraints.
Skilled in effective communication, both orally and in writing; articulate complex issues; and maintain goo working relations. Ability to lead study teams; originate new ideas, projects and methodologies.
Ability to participate in operational planning teams, participate in operational assessment groups and modify existing orders to affect ongoing operations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
