About the Position: The Directorate of Public Works (DPW) provides sustainable infrastructure development and management, engineering support, lodging services.

Duties

Serve as a manager of the Water and Wastewater Branch of the Directorate of Public Works, Operation and Maintenance Division. Responsibility for planning, supervising, and monitoring drinking water and wastewater treatment. Perform a full range of supervisory duties over the Branch. This includes planning, coordinating, directing and reviewing a variety of work operations of up to four WG-10 Utility System Operators.

Requirements

• Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
• In this position, the incumbent must be able to obtain California D-2 and T-3 certification levels within 45 days of appointment to the position.
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Environmental Science. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
