About the Position: Serves as an Environmental Protection Specialist for the Environmental Division, Directorate of Public Works (DPW), U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hunter Liggett (USAG-FHL).

Duties

Serve as program manager of the assigned environmental program(s) with responsibility for supporting the command mission. Secure environmental permits and permit modifications for construction, operations and maintenance. Manage preparation of environmental documentation. These duties may be in the capacity of a Contract Officer Representative (COR).

Requirements

• Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
• This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• This is a Term position scheduled to last 3 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
• Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
• This position requires the incumbent to complete Contract Officer Representative certification within one year of appointment.
• This position requires the incumbent to complete Resources Conservation and Recovery Act training to sign hazardous waste manifests within 4 months of appointment.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
