You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT of JOINT TYPHOON WARCEN PEARL HARBOR HI.
Duties
You will plan, schedule, and participate in the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications software supporting Joint Typhoon Warning Center operations and administration.
You will manage system resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability, and hardware and software configuration.
You will develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services.
You will facilitate the gathering, analysis, and preservation of evidence used in the prosecution of computer crimes.

- Certifications: This position is a Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF} level II position. This position requires the incumbent obtain and maintain a DoD approved security certification within six months of hire.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- The employee may be required to work overtime as part of their work schedule or on an emergency basis. Recall to duty is a regular requirement of this position.

Qualifications
To qualify for a GS-11, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience serving as a system administrator for Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) systems such as Raytheon High Speed Guard, Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System and FMQ-17/26 systems.
Experience planning, scheduling and participating in the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and applications software.
Experience managing user and administrator accounts, network permissions, and access to systems and equipment.
Experience resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
Experience managing the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements including Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM), Computer Network Directives (CND), and additional authoritative guidance.

3. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Development and delivery of training to junior civilian and military information technology professionals.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Participating in the development and implementation of systems security contingency plans, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.

Education
Successfully completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successfully completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
