You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (POLICY AND PLANNING) in the Communications and Information Systems Directorate of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Duties

You will exercise both administrative and technical supervision over subordinates for Communication Systems (CS) Maritime Operations Center (MOC) Systems support. You will be responsible for operational oversight of the transport, networks, and systems that support the PACFLT Fleet Command Center (FCC) and Makalapa Headquarters, when a Joint Task Force (JTF) is formed. You will oversee and manage the requirements, funding, installation, operation and maintenance of all Communication Systems (CS) supporting the Fleet Command Center that support the COMPACFLT Maritime Operations Center. You will coordinate with the Joint Task Force (JTF) Staff Working Group personnel the planning and programming of future CS support to the Makalapa HQ.

• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code IT Project Manager, proficiency level Advanced, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying information technology and communication systems concepts, principles and practices to manage (e.g., interpret and develop policies; analyze and resolve technical and resource issues; establish metrics and performance measurement tools; perform cost-benefit and feasibility analyses of proposed new systems; life-cycle management) information technology programs; and developing new theories, concepts, and standards in order to align agency internal business practices with regulations. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
