About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, located in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Manage inventory and maintain accountability for issue and receipt of petroleum, oil, and lubricants such as gasoline, diesel and fluids.
Receive deliveries of fuels or fluids while maintaining necessary records of total receipts and issues.
Ensure data is input into an automated tracking system
Ensure compliance with all security, environmental, fire and safety regulations.
Monitor the operational status of automated fuel system and makes required corrective actions.
Process documents for issue while exercising care to ensure the correct items are being issued to an authorized customer.
Operate electric, gasoline, diesel or propane powered forklift trucks to lift loads weighing up to 6,000 pounds.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 70 pounds in the regular performance of duties
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator Certificate within 6 months of entry into the position.
- This position requires the incumbent to work inside and outside, in all kinds of weather, with frequent exposure to heat or cold.
- This position requires the incumbent to work on hard and slippery surfaces, with the possibility of falls, stains from fuels and oils, and possibility of burns from flammable liquids.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing an automated supply or inventory management system; 2) Assisting with the receipt, storage, and/or issue of materials, equipment, or fuel associated products such as petroleum, oil, and lubricants; and 3) Maintaining supply, inventory, or other related records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
